Ballygriffin’s Nano Nagle Birthplace marked a significant milestone on Sunday, 26 April 2026, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Presentation Sisters. The day honoured the enduring life and legacy of Nano Nagle, whose vision continues to inspire communities around the world.

A commemorative Mass was held at the Church of St. Nicholas, Killavullen, at 11:30am. The celebration was led by Bishop William Crean, alongside Fr Gerard Condon PP and Fr Hegarty. The ceremony was also live-streamed, allowing people across six continents to join in this special occasion.

The event was made possible through the dedication and teamwork of a committed volunteer community, whose efforts in the lead-up and on the day itself created a deeply meaningful and spiritual experience for all involved.

Sr Lois, Sr Alba, and Sr Una extended heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the celebration such a memorable and uplifting occasion at Nano Nagle Birthplace.

Who We Are

Nano Nagle Birthplace is established, owned and run under the governing authority of the Union of Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary – Generalate, CHY number 20002190, a religious congregation commonly known as the Presentation Sisters.
The Trustees of Nano Nagle Birthplace are the Congregational Leadership Team.
A Board of Management provides governing and managerial oversight, support and advice on the running of the Centre. The Board includes some locals from the Ballygriffin area.
A community of Presentation Sisters resides in the Centre and continues their commitment through their support and presence to the programmes, events, and care of the land.

Nano Nagle Birthplace, Ballygriffin celebrated the 50th Birthday of its purchase by the Presentation Sisters on April 26th. Sister Anthony Moloney of Cloyne was the main inspiration behind the transfer of property from Mr. John Cronin to the Sisters. The Coach House of the Nagle Family has been renovated as a residence and the Conference Centre and Bungalows now grace the space in the shadow of the Nagle Mountains where Nano played with her siblings in the early 18th century.
We live streamed the ceremony acknowledging the date and there will be subsequent announcements of times and details.
Please watch for them and plan to see the ceremony on YouTube.
